CHECKING THE EMERGENCY AND SAFETY DEVICES

Check the function of the emergency and safety devices regularly, at least once every two weeks:

  • Emergency stop buttons. Press the button while the machine is running; the machine must stop within a few seconds.
  • Door switches. Open the door slightly while the machine is running; the machine must stop within a few seconds.
  • Tilting guard at the material infeed. Tilt the guard while the machine is running; the feed belt will stop.

BEFORE PUTTING THE MACHINE OUT OF SERVICE FOR A LONG TIME:

  • Drain the condensate from the air treatment unit
  • Disconnect the electricity and compressed air supply
  • Cover the conveyor belt with opaque foil
  • Preserve metal parts that are not otherwise protected with oil
  • Protect the whole machine against dust settling by covering it with foil
  • Do not store the machine in a damp place, protect it from the weather

POSSIBLE FAULTS

AFTER PRESSING THE "START" BUTTON THE CONTROL CIRCUITS ARE NOT CONNECTED.

  • Check whether the power supply has failed.
  • Check that the side doors are not open, that there is no object under the tilting guard at the infeed and that the emergency stop buttons are not locked.
  • Check that the air pressure in the system is 6 bar.
  • Use a tester to measure whether there is voltage at the terminals of the supply terminal block.
  • Check the circuit breakers.
  • Check the alarms shown on the LCD screen
  • Check the characters shown on the display, nSt must be displayed
  • Check that CAN Run is lit on the frequency inverters

THE MACHINE STOPPED DURING OPERATION

  • Check whether the power supply has failed.
  • Check the air pressure. Make sure the pressure at the machine inlet is 6 bar.
  • Check whether the emergency stop button was pressed or a door opened by accident. Release the button by turning it in the direction of the arrow and close the door.
  • Check the alarms shown on the LCD.
  • Check whether the working unit has been overloaded - the vertical unit load symbol is flashing.
  • The belt has run to the side during oscillation. Release the belt tension and move the belt to the middle of the roller. Check that the optical sensor works and that the oscillation is set correctly. Clean the dust off the optical sensor.
  • Check the circuit breakers.
